Challenge 300 – Week Two

Week one of the ”Challenge 300” came to it’s conclusion yesterday and I am pleased to announce that I did in fact do the 300 shuttles required for week one.

In fact since I had time to kill before Ludus yesterday afternoon I actually did 300 in one go (well 30 lots of 10 shuttles of approx 14m with a wee rest break in between each set).

I had planned just to do the 90 shuttles I had left to do to make up 300 shutles for the week. But the 90 shuttles didn’t take very long so I decided to do 300 shuttles or go for 30 minutes which ever came first. 30 minutes actually came first but I was so close to doing 300 I kept going finishing in 32 minutes.

With the shuttles done (and one of The FB’s ACTUALLY did shuttles in gumboots!) let’s see what torture amazingly fun activity we have in store for week two

Todays volunteer is young Mr Weepu (of the “Keep Calm Piris on” variety) once again no budget for police supervision but he’s an All Black you can TOTALLY trust him not to look inside the bag and pick the thing he thinks would hurt us the most. 🙂

And this weeks activity is *drum roll please .. dddrrrrrrrrrrrrum*

Squat Jumps!

I did appreciate the way Piri feigned sadness for us all 😉

To perform a Squat Jump ..

  1. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, arms at sides.
  2. Start by doing a regular squat ensuring you go down till you have at least a 90 degree angle at the knee reach down with your hands to touch the floor (both hands between your legs is probably the easiest)
  3. Jump up as explosively as you can when you rise up reaching for the ceiling with your hands.
  4. When you land, lower your body back into the squat position to complete one rep.
  5. Repeat 300 times 😉

Simple!  This one can be done anywhere, anytime .. so no excuses people.

Till next time
GO THE ABS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(The girls and I will be cheering from the sideline – look out for us, we will be dressed in black)

PS – I plan to lose 5kgs in the next 5 weeks! I’ll tell you more tomorrow …
