Pedantic? Who me?
pe·dan·tic/pəˈdantik/
Synonyms: punctilious – donnish – priggish – meticulous
Lets decide at the end of this blog post shall we?
Monday is Labour Day in New Zealand and its a public holiday. James and I caught my parents in an extraordinarily good mood earlier in the year and they agreed to babysit the kidlets for two nights so that James and I could have a weekend away.
Oh and I need to send a big thank you out to all those Trade Me people who bought all the gear I sold to pay for the weekend! You all rock and I will be thinking of you while I am watching the RWC Final without ANY interruptions. 😉
Anyway as you may (or may not) be aware I’m in a desperate fight with the last few kilos that are clinging to my arse (and hips/thighs/back) so I’ve been training hard and eating well and I’m seeing results *yay* so although I’ve been really excited about this weekend I’ve also been worried that it will completely derail my attempts to be at my “goal weight” in a little over two weeks.
So what is a girl to do? Plan .. plan .. plan. I mean everyone makes color coded spreadsheets so that they can pack all the food they will need .. right?
I’ve even worked out what exercise I need to do and what gear I need to take with me. I’m sure loads of people travel with a medicine ball .. So now its up to me to find the time to get what needs to be done, done.
Like my friend Annie says “Make time – not excuses”.
I do have my “secret weapon” though .. James will make sure I don’t make him lug a medicine ball and skipping rope across to Waiheke Island for no reason. Heck he will probably even get me to run (or at least do a weak attempt at a slow jog).
He even looks a little “drill Sargent(ish) with his new short back and sides! However if I have to do burpees while on holiday, I think he should do them as well, just to show how much he loves and supports me. Anyway he will need to burn off all the scrumptious holiday food our accommodation supplies and now he has to eat double because waste not want not and all that jazz. 🙂
For the curious among you, we are staying at The Loft on Waiheke Island ..
I’ve been wanting to go there for years! Unfortunately I doubt the weather will be nice enough for us to try out the outdoor bath (it ALWAYS rains Labour weekend), but it has a TV and there is a game on AND we will get two entire nights uninterrupted sleep .. bliss!
Actually after reading this blog post .. I guess I am a little pedantic, but it’s a title I will wear with pride when I can get my arse to fit into my jeans.
Till next time
