What would make your list?

This morning at Ludus the roll of a dice governed the main workout. In short, we had a circuit to complete (multiple times) but you couldn’t start the circuit until you had rolled a 6. If you rolled anything other than a 6 you had to complete a 5 burpee penalty and then roll again.

I’ll just come right out and say, it’s a good thing I don’t hate burpees, after all it would be pretty lame if the person whose blog is titled “Burpees for Life” didn’t actually like them – right? Although during my crossfit stint I did think the title was a tad misleading, as you don’t do nearly as many burpees at crossfit as the meme’s make out.

On the other hand, Ludus without burpees is like me suddenly deciding that nothing tastes as good as skinny feels, because we all know that in my opinion there are hundreds of things that taste better than skinny including waffles, pancakes and most forms of dessert.

So I guess burpees makes my Top 5 Fave list, which had me thinking what else would be on the list?

My faves;

  1. Tyre Flips
  2. HSPU’s
  3. Burpees
  4. Barbell Cleans/Press/Jerk
  5. Pistols

3 of my top 5 are things are activities that we very rarely do at Ludus and are more “crossfit exercises” those are HSPU’s, the barbell work and pistols.  We did do pistols this week at a Ludus session, 90 of the suckers, they probably wouldn’t have made my top 5 if you had asked me immediately after that WOD.

I guess to some it would seem strange that I currently choose to do the majority of my training at one establishment even though I’d have more chance of doing the things I love at another – well things become a lot clearer if you look a the things I’m not so found of ..

My non faves;

  1. Wall balls
  2. Thrusters
  3. Turkish Get Up’s
  4. Skipping
  5. Flares (although Frogs came a close runner up)

Ludus wins hands down on the stuff I hate to do more than running with only number five being a Ludus staple ..

Yeah it may be cherry picking, but you know what? I’m rather to partial to cherries ..

Till next time
