Day One

Today I’m starting a new diet plan.  I’ve tired a version of this plan before, I think I lasted an entire three days.

I do not function well without carbs but even so, I am going to give the keto way of eating another shot.

I’m aiming for at least a week .. just to prove I can do it more than anything else.  Well actually no, I’m aiming to drop some of the excess waffles that are now residing on my hips.  That alone should keep me on track. 😉

For breakfast I had this ….

Yep, those whole eggs you see there (along with another five whites).  Not a bad way to start the day.  Obviously a piece of toast would have rounded out the meal, but we will have to save that thought for another 13 weeks.

Last night I had my first session back with Miss Jo after the mammoth holiday.  I was supposed to do legs but after “running” through the mud on the weekend I can hardly move, so getting any real training done on them would have been impossible.  So instead we did back (which is another one of my weaknesses, so that was all good).

Apart from being weak (and Miss Jo said I wasn’t actually doing too badly) and exhausted it was good to be back and focused on the upcoming competitions.  I’m guessing we will do some measures on Friday because that will be the “official 12 week countdown” maybe this new diet will miraculously make me lean by Friday .. heres hoping.

And on another (completely different) note, I received the DVD from the NABBA/WFF Christchurch Grand Prix that I competed in back in April.  The federation arranged for every competitor to get a copy of the DVD for free which was pretty awesome.  I haven’t watched it yet.  I tend to cringe when I see myself on TV but I did manage to make it onto the cover (albiet the back cover) of the DVD .. now thats nearly being famous!

On tonight’s agenda is hamstring training and a date with my spin bike (although I’m going to cheat and put it in front of the fire, its freezing these days!).

So till next time

    Hi Julia,

I am curious to see what the diet will entail. I know you need to incorporate a lot more healthy fats into your diet when going keto, so hopefully you are getting some good advise there. I have never tried MCT’s (medium chain triglycerides) but have read they really help. I look forward to following along!
