Road to Routeburn – Week 13/37
T minus 2 weeks ..
Can you believe it? Two weeks until I run my very first trail half marathon!
As last week was “peak week” this week was a recovery week which even included having the Monday off! Although that did make it hard to remember what day it was as I generally remember from what training day it is and this week it was all out of kilter.
I did however get to do some climbing indoors (it’s been awhile) and I took a part in a community trail run in Shakespeare Regional park. The run was going to be shorter than my scheduled run, but in the scheme of things – it wasn’t going to be detrimental to my training and more importantly I had my daughter and her friend with me – so they got to spend some time out on the trail. Turns out they enjoyed the trails – just not so much the running part .. lol.
Next week is also going to be slightly out of kilter as I’m marshalling at the Auckland Marathon next Sunday which is usually when I do my long run, so I’ll be moving everything back a day – another week I’ll be clueless about what day it is. 😉
