The other day I realised that when I am really stressed, I do two things.
Who would have thought?!?!?!
You’d think that you’d do something positive and somewhat relaxing, such as yoga but no, not Julia, Julia cleans the house and then goes for a run (and talks in the third person).
For me, cleaning is quite cathartic. When everything around you seems to be completely out of control, throwing out the things that no longer have purpose and re-organising what is left allows you to determine the outcome, you are in complete control.
Running on the other hand is not what I would call cathartic – running helps to alleviate stress but not allowing me to think about anything other than not dying, because, we’ll I’m shit at running ..
On a positive (because I’m all about finding the positives and being grateful for what you have) is that I finally made time to list all the items that I’ve been meaning to list on Trade Me “forever” and who knows, I might even get to the point where my lungs don’t feel like they are going to burst when I run.
