GOING LONG

Road to Routeburn – Week 10/37

Week of highs!

First of all, I ran non stop for the longest distance to date on Thursday 3rd October which was completely out of the blue! I had a goal of running to the end of the trail as I’d done that once before and when I did that, my goal was to try and get 5km non stop as that was something my coach said would be a good goal for me. Nailed that so just tried to keep going for the entire 1:15 that I had scheduled and I did! Got to say, I was pretty chuffed ending up with 8.3km.

Then to top off a great week – James and I went to Rotorua for the weekend and I did my longest run to date (18km) in the Redwoods. Considering I’d tweaked my back the day prior, I was very happy with how it all went. I also went slightly quicker than expected even though I got slightly lost and had to flag down a mountain biker to help me find my way. (Story of my life).

All in all .. nothing to complain about.

Till next time

Total km 36:74
