Let the mission begin

Next Friday is my friend Emma’s hens night.

What makes it exciting is not just the fact its been a loooong time coming 😉 but she is currently residing in Sydney, Australia so I get to be a jet setting “single gal” for the weekend!

Those of you who know me in real life know that I am not a dress and heels kind of girl.  My usual uniform is one built for comfort.  Denim and cotton clothes emblazoned with the word Roxy is what you will usually find me in and I can stretch to a nice top with Roxy jeans if I actually go out anywhere.

Imagine my horror when I start seeing on facebook status updates of the other girls exclaiming what they are wearing with links to dresses!  Dresses .. dressy dresses.  *sigh*

So yesterday I gave in and went out to find a dress, thankfully it was easier than I thought it would be.  I asked my friend Donelle where she got a dress she wore to a birthday party from and I went to that store (because she is way too small for me to fit her dresses) 😉 I found a gorgy dress and hummed and harred about buying my size (which is a little snug but looked awesome on) and the next size up (which kind of looked like a sack, but was comfy) lol.  I went with snug so now I’m on a mission to make it less so.

The only kink in my plan could be that it’s my wedding anniversary this weekend and James and I have a leave pass to celebrate.  Hmmm I wonder how many calories are in a bottle of champagne … thankfully I’m not on a “real diet” because there is still cake in the office!  Honestly, if its still there at the end of the day I’m going to biff it .. stupid cake keeps laughing at me .. I’m sure of it.  Damn you Rocket Kitchen for making such delectable looking cake!

Anyway nine more sleeps till I have to slip into the LBD and look HOTT!  Wish me luck, if I’m successful there shall be photos, if there are no photos don’t ask 😉
