To exit or not to exit, that is the question

I wrote earlier in the week how I could easily walk away from the competition scene (for now) and I was waiting to see how I felt in the coming days because people who are prepping for comp quite often feel “over it” it is a normal part of the process ;).

I mulled it over trying to figure out if I was just tired and I would come right or if at this point in time I needed to step back, take a break and come back with renewed vigor next season.  I talked through my thoughts with my friend Brooke then discussed it with James and I affirmed in my own mind that I was ready to take a break.

I wasn’t looking forward to telling Miss Jo I didn’t want to be one of those girls that pikes out and doesn’t follow through.  So I turned up to training and when she asked “how are you?” I replied honestly “I’m over it .. I’m completely over this entire competition process”  What she said to me shocked me  …

“I’m not surprised!  I told you to take a break you’ve already done two shows this year”

… all that worry for nothing!

As soon as I had made my mind up and told the people that matter to me I felt 10 kilos lighter.  I trained hard and I felt great.  Miss Jo said that next year we would plan it out so that I would do a show close to the nationals so that I could get them done one after the other that way I didn’t have to be on a year long diet.  Sounds perfect to me.

One thing that has surprised me since deciding I’m not competing is that my cravings have gone.  We have had delicious looking chocolate cake in the office two days in a row and I haven’t touched it .. its amazing what you don’t want we you are allowed it.

And speaking of delicious its that time of the week again …

Today’s wolf proves that things get better with age.  He was hot, but these days he is scorching!

The delectable Ryan Gosling and before you think .. oh he’s ok … feast your eyes on this ….

*swoon* the above is a scene from the new movie “Crazy Stupid Love” which is obviously another must see movie on my list 😉

Till next time

(When I will fill you in on my new plans since Im not competing!)

Julia- We all reach this stage at one point or another and I know how hard it is. Don’t worry what anyone else thinks, you have busted your ass and have learned so much from it all! Have fun taking time off! But it won’t be a whole year so don’t get excited…ya gotta start the next diet a few months before remember!

It sounds like you made the right choice for you right now. Your body and mind need a break but you will come back better for it.
