Setting an example

It’s Thursday already?  How did that happen!

So I get quite a few questions on my dual role as Mum and Figure Competitor

And the quick answers would be yes, no, good time management and yes.

However I got a question in a couple of days ago that I’ve been stewing over.  At first I thought “Oh they must be joking” but in fact no .. they were quite serious, so here we go.

Firstly, I am not a bikini model.  I don’t have the physique for bikini (or the perky boobies) so on that point I agree with you, we can not all be bikini models.

However that is where my agreement with your outlook ends.  I whole heatedly think that I set an amazing example for my daughter.

By watching not only me but both of her parents, she will grow up knowing that you can do whatever it is that you want too .. you just have to get up off the couch and do it.  So many parents out there limit their kids by limiting themselves, getting stuck in the rut of work, tv and fast food!  I know which home I would rather my kids be bought up in.

And finally … we all have body issues (and we all have people who have issues with our bodies).  No one is perfect, but I am just working on being the best me that I can be and that I think is a valuable lesson to teach any child.

What? I can't be a bikini model? .. Right I'll just be a star then!

I will jump off my soap box now 😉

This week I’m training with a couple of niggles.  My achillies is still killing me and my shoulder is not entirely happy with me .. but I’m getting things done and thats all that counts.

Till next time
